Guich Clothing

A clothing brand I designed, produced and sold. Graphics that had to survive a print run, an embroidery machine and a customer wearing them, which is a harder brief than anything that only ever exists on a screen.

01 — Why it matters

Design with a manufacturing constraint

Screen work forgives everything. Physical work does not: a stroke too thin disappears in embroidery, a gradient bands in screen print, a placement that reads flat collapses on a body. Every graphic below was drawn against those limits and then actually made.

02 — On the garment

Redrawn for thread

Embroidery removes detail. The line work was rebuilt at a single weight with the counters opened up, so the drawing still reads at stitch density on a heavyweight hoodie. This is the part of the process most brand portfolios never reach, because it means committing to a manufacturer.
